Yes, We're going!
We're going!! So now we have the huge task of selling all of our items, except for a few things we'll store at Mike's parents. I have been calling to get Dr. and dentist appointments set up as well figuring out how to do an estate auction. Mike and I have been married for 15 years how did we collect so much stuff? Kids have only 1 month of school left and then on to California for the summer. I'll keep you updated. Bye!

Are we really going?
Well, we have gotten a formal job offer from Dakar Academy for Mike to be the Business Manager. The kids will attend the school and I will help out as needed. Unfortunately we can't bring the cats (Peanut and Butter). But my brother lives on a beautiful ranch in Ohio and I'm sure the cats will be much happier there then here in our tiny apartment.
We have had a wild year. Last summer Mike and I decided to put our dream home on the market with expectations of it taking years to sell, since that was the typical time frame of the homes in that area of Fort Calhoun. Well, it sold in 5 days! So off we went to find a new house closer to Mikes job at Grace. We toured over 60+ homes, put offers on 3 separate houses and nothing was getting us closer to owning a home. Finally 1 day before schools started we decided to just get an apartment somewhere in Omaha and the kids have been in the Millard school district. Well God laid it on my heart that there is a new adventure for our family to take. We first were told about Dakar Academy in January and we thought "no, that's not for us". But as the months went on God has gotten through my stubborn heart and shown me that is exactly where he wants us to go. We knew for sure when we finally told the kids we were thinking about it and they were so excited about it. What kids (7,10,13) are excited about first leaving a house with 12 acres and their friends to move to a small apartment and go to a very large school and then get told we are going to move to a third world country with iffy electricity and no McDonalds around the corner.
We have until April 30th to give them a definite "yes!". Now we have the mission of raising money for travel expense, health insurance and monthly living expenses. As well as selling all of our superfluous items and storing the rest with family. Seems like a lot of work. Hopefully God will make this not too stressful. I'll be using this blog for family and friends as well as future tourist for Dakar. So for now we just wait....
