National Workers Christmas Party

This is the 2nd year Mike and I had the honor to attend the National Workers Christmas Party.  We served them dinner and enjoyed some festivities and games and then handed out gift bags.
The whole family is invited.  Isn't she adorable!
This is Landing Sagna, he works with Mike and has become a great friend
Playing a game where a person lays down on the floor and covers up making it look like he is sleeping with the hat over his head and the person comes in trying to wake him up and they begin yelling and very focused on his head and then he lifts up at the bottom and scares them.  It was great fun and very popular.

They know how to have fun :)  And yes I joined in and got Mike out there with me! (fortunately no video of that ;-)

What am I wearing?  A Senegalese outfit of course!

Christmas in Dakar

Even with over 92% Muslim they still decorate for Christmas.

**Friends took these pictures.

Found on Youtube video of Dakar's New Years Eve (It went on like this for a week all over the city)

(The Other) Saint Louis

Some beautiful pictures a friend took that I just had to share.  Saint Louis is about 3 hours north of Dakar.

Look at all the garbage.  Once you have been here for awhile you get used to seeing it (because it is everywhere!)

Saint Louis (pronounced Sane Lou E) is known for their Bird Sanctuary.

I see warthogs all the time here but I never noticed how tiny their bodies are compared to their heads.
